Live From 2008 Family Days – Friday Early Evening
The 2008 Frontiersman Camping Fellowship Family Days has began. I am sitting live here on the front porch of the Commander’s Lodge facing towards the parade field and watching all of the action and activity going on around the camp. The smell of wood fires hang in the air the sounds of stakes being hammered into the ground comes towards me. I sit here and see the large number of shelters that are in the parade field and I see a lot of familiar faces. I also see new faces here at Family Days. I am excited about the wonderful times and the memories that families are making here at Family Days. There are many kids that are running around having a good time and I can hear the excitement in their voices. I haven’t received word on how many have registered at this point, but I know that we are going to have good registration numbers.
The Dessert Auction is about to take place in half an hour, and I have smelled some really good desserts being prepared for the auction. The auction is always our largest fundraiser of the year. We have complete confidence that this year’s Dessert Auction will be no different.
There is a lot in store for this year’s Family Days. Our guest speaker for this year’s Family Days is Belinda Kersey. I am looking forward to hearing what she has to say at our devotion tomorrow morning as well as at our our evening service and our Sunday morning service. I believe that God has a lot in store for those that are here at the 2008 Family Days. We have many great events scheduled throughout the day on Saturday. Everything from a ladies tea to a trail walk, from a skillet toss to an FCF wedding. I firmly believe that this Family Days will be our best one yet.
I encourage you, that if you aren’t out here at Family Days, that you keep the event covered in prayers. Pray that God will keep a hedge of protection around the participants that there will be no medical emergencies. Also pray that God will be present at each of our services and that His Spirit will move mightily. I believe that we will hear of healings occuring at Family Days this year. I believe that men and women, boys and girls will receive a fresh annointing from God and that God’s Spirit will be poured out on all people.
